Stellar Completes Construction of New Lacrosse Facility at Jacksonville University

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (February 19, 2019) — Stellar, a firm providing award-winning construction management at-risk, design-build and general contracting services for a range of commercial and public sector markets, has completed construction of the new Jacksonville Lacrosse Center (JLC) at Jacksonville University. The firm was the design-builder for the project, teaming with PQH Group for the design.

The men’s and women’s lacrosse teams and staff began using the facility last month. The men’s team kicked off the 2019 season on January 19, and the first game of the women’s season was on February 12.

The Jacksonville Lacrosse Center is located adjacent to D.B. Milne Field, the home field for both teams on the Jacksonville University campus. Construction costs for the facility totaled $1.875 million.

The 8,600-square-foot building includes:

• Ten offices for coaches, assistants and staff

• Conference room and film room

• Women’s locker room, restrooms and shower facilities

• Men’s locker room, restrooms and shower facilities

• Two large patios for fans to enjoy

“Our crews worked hard over the past few months to complete this project on schedule and in time for the upcoming lacrosse season,” said Richard Lovelace, Senior Vice President of Commercial Services at Stellar. “We were proud to team up with Jacksonville University to build this one-of-a-kind facility that will serve these two teams for years to come.”

Construction of the facility broke ground in June 2018.
